The Canadian Charter of Rights guarantees everyone and full and fair defence as well as the presumption of innocence.  This means that it is always the burden of the Crown to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.  You do not need to prove your innocence.  To ensure you receive the benefit of all of your rights, consult with a lawyer.
